Challenge: Stop Existing And Start Living An Amazing Life
CPP'd on February 28th, 2008We have one single chance to live our lives - just one. Why should we waste even a single moment heading down a path that isn’t what we truly desire?
For much of my life, I’ve been so preoccupied with just making ends meet, that I haven’t had a lot of leftover energy to spend on creating a life that is truly amazing. Can you relate? Now that I make a comfortable living and I’m not stressing out over money constantly, the time has come to challenge myself to take things to the next level.
Money itself does not create an amazing life. Like Tim Ferriss said in his book The 4-Hour Workweek, he was making $70,000 per month but was miserable because he had no time to actually live.
That’s kind of where my life has headed. I’m comfortable, but I don’t have the time I want to live the life I want. As part of the Freelance Smackdown, I challenged Dave Navarro’s time management coaching programs to help me find a few more hours in my day that I could devote to creating passive income streams. After talking to Dave, I got really excited about what I could do with more time. Ultimately, I don’t want more time so that I can work even more. I want more time so that I can live more.
I guess I always thought that somehow this great life would just “happen,” that somewhere along the way things would just fall into place. But now I’m 32 years old and I’m realizing that there is no waiting for something to happen and that creating an amazing life doesn’t happen without a highly concentrated effort.
Have you ever stopped for a moment in time and wondered… “How did this become my life?” If we’re not careful, we can drive ourselves right into a life that bears no resemblance to what we really desire. Is it really possible to break free of an existence we don’t feel passionate about? Do the people living our dream lives have some sort of special quality that gives them a ticket to live an incredible life - or are they just making different choices?
I think it is absolutely possible. I managed to escape one unfullfilling existence (cubicle) in exchange for a new life (freelancing), where I now have a lot more freedom and flexibility. Now, my goal is to take what I learned during that process

How to Achieve Ridiculous Goals
CPP'd on December 17th, 2007Soon after being hired as an Operation Manager for an internet start-up company, I took a risk that could have gotten me fired, but instead elevated me to near rock star status. I applied the same formula many more times at this company which resulted in a kinship with the CEO and founding management team, access to lots more critical information, several thousand dollars in bonuses, company perks, a promotion, a higher salary, and more stock options. My intention with this piece is to deconstruct the method and show you how to get the same types of results.
This is not a solution for the faint of heart or those who are adverse to challenges. This is a way, based on my own experiences, for the entrepreneur who is full of passion and willing to do anything to succeed, to GET THERE.
Let me start by saying that when I took the above mentioned job, I had no experience as an operations manager and wondered if I could actually do the job I’d been hired for. Walking in, I had a healthy amount of confidence, but not a lot of experience in this particular area…

How I Made $100,000 by Spending 25 Minutes and $0 on Marketing
CPP'd on December 11th, 2007If I were to come across this title, I would be thinking “yeah right.” But I assure you that this is true and the way it was done was not revolutionary or difficult in the least.
What got me thinking about this post was a comment by Mark (Wizzer) from 6M Profit Method on my last post titled “My BS Revealed: Time Management Tricks for The Overachiever”. Wizzer says:
I think the BIGGEST mistake far too many people make is not seeing things through to the conclusion. I’ve done it myself this week - created a site, found the content, amended a header etc but something real important stopped my from ftping it and promoting. That real important thing was I didn’t like some of my copy. As you say Bullsh** - it needs to go up NOW and the changes made later. Thanks for the kick up the ****.
The reason this comment got me thinking was because there was one very critical thing that I did to promote my copywriting business that I procrastinated about due to of some sort of fear that I was harboring. But once I pulled the trigger, I instantly generated a steady stream of income for 1.5 years. That thing cost me 15 minutes of time and a grand total of $0.
When I first went into business for myself as a freelance writer, I did not have the confidence that I have today. Like Mark, because I didn’t feel like I was “ready” I was hesitant to promote myself and was limiting my own potential…
